Mission + Vision
Our vision has always been simple and clear: Reflecting the light of Jesus’ life for all to see.
The word Vivid comes from a Latin word meaning “to live” and when we use it, it is most often in the description of something that is bright, clear, vibrant or bold.
Life and light.
In John 8:12, Jesus describes Himself as “the light of the world” and says that those who follow Him will have the “light of life.” Furthermore, in Matthew 5:14, Jesus challenges His listeners, saying “you are the light of the world.” Wait…what?! Without clear understanding, that’s not merely impossible, it’s also ambiguous. How can we be the light of the world? Perfection? Effort? Rule-keeping? None of the above.
Jesus isn’t asking us to be the source of light for the world - that’s His role. Rather, He is asking us to be a reflection of His light to the world. That means looking to Jesus is our passion. Paul says that as we look at Jesus we also begin to look more like Jesus (2 Corinthians 3:18) with lives marked by fun, love and truth.
That is what Vivid Church is all about.
